3 Great Winter Wedding Table Decorations

If you are getting married this winter, and are serving food at your wedding, make sure that you don't forget about decorating the food tables. You want the food tables to look as good as the rest of your reception areas; with the right decorations on your food table, you can make your reception area look cohesive and united. Here are the different decorating elements your winter wedding food table need.

#1 Tablecloths

The base for any good food table starts with linen tablecloths. Linen tablecloths are a classic choice; they are strong and sturdy, and come in a wide variety of colors. They make a good base for your food tables that you can build from.

If you want to keep things classic, you can just use white linen tablecloths for your food tables. However, if you want to add a little bit more color, you can use your wedding colors for tablecloths. If you just want to accent with your wedding colors, you can place linen napkins in the wedding colors underneath each food dish to add a dash of color to your food tables.

If you want your food tables to look a little more elegant, you can use lace instead of linen tablecloths. Then can add a touch of grace to your table.

#2 Food Labels

Next, you could put out food labels next to each item set out on your food tables. These food labels are not only informative, they can also serve as another decorating element.

To create the food labels, you can purchase blank place cards in your wedding colors, and either print or hand-write each dish on the labels. If any of your food dishes contain major allergens, such as nuts or shellfish, make sure that you put that information on the place cards as well.

You can display the place cards on mini-easels. These mini-easels are designed for tiny canvas and work well as place card holders. You can paint the easels in your wedding colors. Or, you can display the place cards on pine cones for a more seasonal flare.

#3 Accent Pieces

Finally, you are going to want to put accent pieces on your wedding food tables. These accent pieces should incorporate some of the decoration elements used throughout the reception area.

For example, if you are using candles on your guest's tables, you may want to incorporate candles on the food tables. Or, if you are decorating with seasonal elements, such as pine cones or fake snow, you may want to incorporate these elements and place them around the food platters.
